15th Annual Bloomington Kiwanis Mother’s Day Flower Sale Raises Funds, Sends Kids to camp

Send kids to camp

Proceeds from the Flower Sale benefit the club’s signature project:  Camp Limberlost, which provides local children with an overnight, summer camp experience focused on positive social interactions.

Each summer, Bloomington Kiwanis works with local educators to identify deserving 8- to 10-year olds to send to Camp Limberlost, held at Timber Pointe Outdoor Center on beautiful Lake Bloomington.

“We work to find the children who may not otherwise have the chance to go to camp. Campers make new friends, learn about themselves and others,” says Scott Seibring, co-chair of the Camp Limberlost committee. “They love camp. Campers experience the great outdoors with all Timber Pointe has to offer, from fishing and canoeing to games and camp fires.”

Camp Limberlost is the oldest continuous resident camp (COVID years outstanding) in Illinois and the oldest continuous project in all of Kiwanis International.
